Tidak suka diperintah

Yesterday, kena "balun" dengan my senior manager. From day 1, i cant see eye to eye with this person. Actually dah start even before i masuk tempat ni lagi. I really tak paham kenapa dia tak suka i ni. Anyway i came back from lunch agak lewat skit, pasal meet up ngan my other business partners. On the way back to the office, 1 of the staff called saying that this senior manager is looking for me. Kat opis we all panggil dia MKB (mat kepala butoh) pasal kepala dia botak and rupa macam butoh, and realiti memang macam ass hole pun. Back to the story, i reached the office terus pi bilik dia and then the drama swasta start.
Dia ni bising pasal last saturday, ada meeting regarding a project that i'm handling. Yang kelakarnya is i tak tau pun ada meeting. So this MKB ni sms me on a Saturday morning inquiring kenapa i takde kat situ. I reply that its an off day and i'm in JB rite now, which was actually a lie. In reality i dont like to be disturbed during my off days. So there i was in his office being lectured about ownership bla...bla...bla. The funny thing is all the time dia duk membebel, i duk sengeh jer and fidling with my phone. Frankly speaking i dont give a rats ass what he is blabing about. Dia ni just nak flex his muscle, nak prove that he is the boss. Ini lah dia typical melayu, give him education and power and he thinks he owns the god damn world.
I suka bila tgk melayu naik but when i see things like this better diaorg duk kampung noreh lagi elok. This MKB fellow is like so many other malays yang duk keja kat one company for so many years and tak reti nak belah. I boleh bet, if you campak diaorg kat luar takleh hidup punya. These people tak compete ngan bangsa lain, they are never tried or tested. Diaorg ni duk kena protect ngan bangsa sendiri. I bersyukur pasal i dah keja ngan all type of races, and frankly speaking duk keja ngan melayu satu hapah benda i tak belajar. Everything is slow, depan cakap lain belakang sembang lain. Its hard for me to imagine how melayu buleh nak berjaya kalau ada this type of attitude.I ingat kalau kita duk negara jiran kita yang ada singa tu, sure tak leh nak survive punya but the thing is kita ni tak nak bersyukur. Tau nak flex muscle and belagak.

Kepada mereka yang excellent

Dua hari lepas kena attend the group's annual Excellence Conference (EC2006) which was held at the KLCC Convention Centre. This year punya theme is "Passion for Excellence".

If it was an ordinary conference held at an ordinary venue, your's truly memang tak bother nak pegi. Since the event diaorg buat kat this hi-tech punya venue, i jumped on the ocassion. Lagipun ada free food, how can i resist. The KLCC Convention Centre is located next to Mandarin Oriental. To read more about it you can visit http://www.klccconventioncentre.com

The conference is a 2 day thing, 1st and 2nd day is basically a conference but the 2nd half of the 2nd day they will give out prizes to the winners of the CIC competition. Pertandingan ni is a yearly event and each participating team uses 6 sigma to improve apa sahaja process etc in their respective company. This year ada 30 team yang bertanding so the organizers were quite happy with the turn out.

Menurut kata the organizers, this year punya event the speakers invited lebih gempak than before. This year they invited Datuk Tony Fernandez (Air Asia Supreemo), Datuk M Jegathesan (Doctor who still holds the 200m record) and a few other notable speakers. Tapi the speaker i enjoyed most was Tony Fernandez. The guy memang cool, he just wore a t-shirt and jeans for the conference. According to him that is the Air Asia culture, no barriers. I do agree with him. Whenever you dress too formal it creates a barrier between you and your staff. In my future blog, i'll elaborate more on Datuk Tony.

The conference memang berbaloi, i learnt alot from the speakers and got to meet new friends. Cant wait for next years conference, provided i'm still with the company :)

Hari Isnin

530am

Usual routine, gosok baju & seluar. Kena gerak awal, cause kena pi BBB dulu.Abah nak pinjam keta. New car dia lum sampai lagi. Looks like I wont be driving till Wednesday, nasib baik besok ada conference.

630am

Ready to leave the house. Yasmin still belum bangun lagi, seronok tgk dia tido.wish could sleep it out. Monday blues i reckon.

645am

left her at the nursery, quite early. Biasanya we would drop her off at 7am. dont want to be caught in the BBB crawl.

7am

paid the Bangi toll, looks like traffic still okay lagi. both the roundabout heading to my parents place are still clear.

7.05am

picked up my father and headed for work. not really in the mood to talk, monday blues i guess.

730am

reached my wife's office. now have to drive to my office. nasib baik monday traffic wan't that bad. reached the office at 815am. Not bad for a monday.

Since keta takde, still contemplating on whether to take the public transport or ask someone to give me a lift back home. Kalau naik komuter have to walk to the station, jauh plak tu.

i really hate making these decisions................................

care to give me a lift???

Confirm?

already packed my stuff, tgk kat luar hujan plak..raining cats and dogs.
to kill the time, might as well i write something.
Okaylah, today the HR people gave me my conformation letter.pejam celik dah 6 bulan saya keja kat tempat ni. Total years working 6 years plus.
Sepanjang 6 tahun saya kerja, dah bermacam-macam company yang saya dah gain experience from.Paling lama is 3 years plus paling pendek 3 months jer.
I have always wondered why people change jobs.I remember a statement that our Timbalan PM said in the papers "dont jump jobs", thats wahat he roughly said lah.
There is some truth in in, but frankly i dont live my life that way. I dont know bout you guys, but I'm in it for the money.Sometimes the junior guys would come up to me and ask me,whether its okay for them to jump jobs. I always ask, are they in it for the money or the experience. For me both are important, but whats the point if your paid peanuts to work.If your car get repossesed is the company going to pay for it?If you're family member needs that extra cash for that raining day is the company going to pay for it?. For me think about your self before you think of others. Since I have my own family, pay comes into mind. I cant support my family by earning a measily income. Now is the everything under the sun cost something. My view is that we all live in trouble times.RM50 gets you nowhere.
The confirmation letter states that i have to give 2 months notice is i wish to leave. thats a long time. I cant say whether i'm happy or not where i am, but work has been quite a drag lately. The only good thing is that they dont bother me that much so i've got a lot of time on my hands. I dont know what the future hold for me, plans are already there. whether they materialise or not thats another question.
The various companies that i have had the previlage of working for.
-Still Hujan?-

Apa mau bikin

Lepas sehari bercuti, the tendency for work to pile up memang ada. Common what..........

Saya pun tidak terkecuali. So many things to do but yet so little time.

Let me share with you my not-so-completed work

  1. CIMA Analysis
  2. Vendor Update
  3. Weekly Analysis report

Walaupun nampak tak banyak, but in reality banyak. Biar saya elaborate lebih lanjut bout each one.

  • CIMA Analysis

This thing has been going like a ping-pong ball ever since i joined. kejap they want me involved, next minute tak nak plak. Last week masa meeting the management yang bijak sana suruh handle the whole thing, lock stock and barrel. Bagus kan,now kena tag team with the consultant to pastikan the whole thing runs a-okay. Guess who gets credit when everything runs smoothly? I'm sure it aint me.

  • Vendor Update

What do u do when the company tak penah update vendor list for the past 8 years? Dont think i need to elaborate further.

  • Weekly Analysis

I know i need to do this..wajib dan harus BUT does the management ever read it? Stopped doing it for 2 weeks, but i think i have to continue cause the boss gives me that look when i dont mention it during the meeting.

So there you have it...apa mau bikin?if you dont do it u might just get kicked. Dont want that happening do we?And why am i updating the blog during office hours????

-I need something better to do-

Hari ini hari Rabu, semalam hari Selasa besok hari Khamis

Yesterday was a holiday, took the family out to Ikea. Personally I would rather spend it at home. Why?cause i'm the type who doesn't go on leave so any holiday that comes along I rather spend it at home.My other half who might read this may not agree. She would pujuk me and as me to take her and Yasmin out.Destination anywhere can.So I told her my not go to Ikea, why Ikea?personally i really dont know.Maybe cause the house looked so "dull" and needed some sort of face lift.
So we woke up round 7am, and only left the house at 9am. 2hrs were spent on taking pics of Yasmin and preparing her stuff.

View from my crib

Trips to the mall have to be properly planned. I hate it when i cant find parking and i hate to search for parking. If i know that particular place doesn't have adequate parking i'm not gonna go there, just dont want to go through the hassle.
We reached Ikea at 10am, went to the basement parking at P2. Noticed that there were still a lot of empty parking space. What do u expect the place opens at 10, but boy was i wrong. Went up to Ikea and found a hundred or thousands of other Homo Sapiens inside the store. made me wonder, they all takde kerja ke? I mean you must have waited infront of the store, come on lah, most of these people dont even buy stuff in Ikea. they just have a little look and see, take a few pencils (for you to jot down stuff u want to buy) and free catalouges. I guess its a prestige thing when youre seen in Ikea.
Anyway bought a ton of stuff, for me to assemble off course. The good thing bout Ikea is that even Yasmin can assemble their products.

One of the many Ikea products in my apartment

Had a craving for Burger King, so off we headed to One Utama. I dont know why people go here. For me all malls are the same, they sell almost the same thing and sell the same brand.

Ive been to One Utama eversince they opened whey in the 90's. That time they only had 1 wing.Reason i love to go there cause it has a TGV (Tanjong Golden Village) and next to it they had this cool comic shop where i used to buy my comics. For me one utama was considered the hip place to be. Used to hang out there every Thursday, cause thats when the new movies are shown. Those days parking was still hell, but the longest wait would be like 5-10minutes. Parking got from bad to worse after a couple of years, guess thats why they decided to build the new wing. When finding parking became a drag, i stopped going to one Utama cause it just killed my mood.

Yesterdays visit still didnt change my perception of One Utama maybe cause of the holidays, parking was still bad. They directed us to an open parking space, had to walk a few hundred metres underneath the hot sun and to discover Burger King fully packed. Tension nya!!!! All this to enjoy a whopper meal. What the heck man, i'm not giving up my cravings for something like this. Since I parked the car really far from the mall, i ended up lapar balik.

After enduring all that we all headed back home, and yours trully was given the task of putting up the new shelf and hanging up the new curtains.

Hows that to top off your holiday.

Apa rancangan hari minggu anda?

Perspective from the not so confused

My life basically revolves around 2 people, my other half and this god sent from god.
Ladies and Gents, introducing Hana Yasmin. Popped out of her mother 2 years and 2months ago. She has been "sugar and spice and everything nice" as the saying goes. Being a child her age, she has been a handfull. These are a few of her pictures taken since she came out 2 years ago.

Getting some help cutting the cake

watcha looking at??

There you have it, some pics for this blog. at least berseri skit.Until next time......

-Yasmin not that dazed or confused-

To go or not to go?Is that a question?

Its still Monday and still not much activity in the office.Half of the office is on leave. Dont know why I didn't apply for leave the other day. I have to admit i'm not really a model worker but i do get my job done on time.
My other half is on leave today, said she wants to get her hair done in the city. Means that my Yasmin is being taken care of by the good people in the nursery. Doubt she like its. Anyway, I'm not quite sure if i want to stay long in the office. Threw the idea of watching a movie with the other half, provided of course if the there is a window of "opportunity". In any office culture, politics plays an important role. You can either be the ideal worker or you can be the opposite. I prefer to be in the middle, it works nicely for me. Dont want to be too outstanding and they you'll end up being the jack of all trades. But if youre too incompetent, they might just show you the door. So its very important to be in the middle, its worked for me for the past 8 years.
Now if only that window of "opportunity" would open.
-confused whether to go or not-

The start of something new?

10th April 2006

Its a monday, tommorow's a holiday. The office is practicaly empty, got a pile of work on my desk and i damn bored.
Dont know if i'm jumping on the band wagon or just finding a place to vent my frustration but i'm gonna give this blogging thing a try. I've been reading a lot of blogs lately, some are good, interesting, informative but some are a bunch of crap (i'm not gonna name any).
Basically I dont know what i'll be writing in my blog. I dont know if i'm gonna update my blog regularly, cause i'm the type who writes at the spur of the moment. So now isn't the time. I doubt i have what they say a "writer's bloc", since i dont think what i'm doing right now is writing.
For starters, i'll give u the lowdown bout my self. Early 30's, married with 1 kid. Current occupation business analyst. Some company's call it business development. But where i work they call it an analyst. Frankly i dont care. why you may ask, well that will be explained in due time. cant tell everything in one go rite? Been working for the past 8 years, and i've been through 7 jobs. The longest job was 3 years plus, the best years of my life i can say.
My current job is with a GLC company, which one cant say, afraid that someone from that
company might read it and put my family and friends in great danger..just kidding. I prefer
not to disclose it furthermore this is my blog not the company. ahaha
Looks like that sums up my first entry, dont know if any one is gonna read this or not. What the heck i just found a place to express my self. This should make the missus happy, since all this time she was doing all the listening. Thanks dearie.
-still dazed and a little bored-
