7 days and counting

1 more week to go before I leave the office for good. Preparing the stuff for me to hand over, Not much actually cause every assignment or proposal paper has been “taken” over by the MKB. In a way quite glad the leave but at the same time sedih sikit cause I’ll be leaving colleagues who I have gotten quite close to. Anyway like the HR Manager said, “its normal, people come and go” Situation at the office cam tu jugak, no one has the mood to do anything. I guess they can senseSomething just aint right cause key people are leaving.

Eventhough I haven’t officially joined the new company, they have invited me to hang out at the office and all. At least tak ler kekok bila join karang. Which for me is a good thing, the phase of getting to know your new colleagues wont be such a “harrowing” experience. So far the new people are okay, there’s still a barrier. Guess they don’t want to get to “close” to the new boss.

So whats in store for me at the new place. Basically I’ll be overseeing the whole operations and handling Development (like R&D lah). They wanted someone who has handled RORO (Roll on/Roll Off) operations. Since I have experience handled the thing and developed the Ports RORO system, they think I’m the best person to run the whole thing.

So apa itu RORO? RORO stands for Roll on and Roll Off, basically they are ships that carry wheeled cargo such as cars, trailers or anything that has wheels on them. If you want to put them in a container pun boleh but if you have many cars then the best way is via a RORO vessel. I will be handling the large new car-carriers which are known as Pure Car Carriers (PCC’s) and the Pure Car Truck Carriers (PCTS’s). The largest PCC that the company has is the the MV Cougar Ace. Cant wait to work on her.

"Epidemic" in the office and at home

Lately ni tido tak cukup, lebih-lebih lagi bila dah letak surat nak berenti. From 9pm to 5am the TV is mine. My wife memang dah paham dengan my perangai so without telling her she would watch the other TV in my study/office/gaming room. To catch up on sleep I would sleep during lunch time, 1-2 hours sleep is fine with me. Head back home after dinner take another short nap around 30minits can last me for the next 8 hours. Its not just me, the office is full of “zombies”. Men walking around the office with bags under their eyes. I guess no one is complaining since this “epidemic” only happens every 4 years. When I was working in the port, the management had to put TV’s in the cafeteria just to keep the workers happy if not productivity might be effected. At the end of the day everyone is happy.

Mereka yg tak cukup tido

Watched the England V Trinidad & Tobago match last nite. By the way they were playing I doubt they would win the Cup. It could just have ended in a draw. I wanted England to loose and I would love to see what the British Media would write the next morning. The British Media suka hype lebih. Bukan tak bagus, but sometimes they just over do it. I noticed that a lot of Malaysian’s support England but I guess cause kita dijajah by them and a lot of us are went to British Uni’s and we love to watch the EPL.

There’s another “epidemic” going round the office. So far there are 4 people who will be leaving the company (including me). In the coming weeks more will follow. The funny thing is these people are not the clerks or executives. The Heads of Departments are all packing their bags. I guess they lost confidence in the top management. “Too much interference from the top” that’s what they say, “Unrealistic target” another one butted in, “The people on top not focused” someone said, “They appointed someone with no knowledge of the industry” another added. Frankly speaking I doubt the company can achieve that target and I don’t see the direction the company is going. One thing I learnt during my time here is “Office Politics 101” and I failed miserably. What do you expect from a nice guy like me?

still the same old thing

The first half of the day was spent out side of the office. To be precise spent half of the day in my new office. Every thing was in place, except for the laptop which they asked me to find. Discussed a lot of things with my new employer, seems like a nice guy and very receptive to new ideas. But looks can be deceiving, and I don’t want to memuji lebih takut hampa di kemudian hari.

So after spending like 2 hours discussing things, I decided to go to Sunway Pyramid to look for the lap top. Budget given was RM5k, for me that’s a lot. After looking high and low akhirnya jumpa jugak the lap top that interested me. Being the nice guy, I decided to go for a Compaq plus I bought one of those printers that has everything (scanner, printer etc). Total cost RM 4,100.00. Untungnya my employer, dapat pekerja yang pandai berjimat cermat

Anyway after having lunch at McDonalds terus head back to the office. Bila tengok my workstation terus rasa boring and malas. What do you expect from someone yang nak resign? I guess I’ll kill the time by reading other peoples blog.

what went on?

Its been quite sometime since I posted anything…well these are the things that have been going on since the last post.

1. Resigning from my current job
Finally was able to give my letter to the boss.No counter offer (which didn’t surprise me) but wished me all the best. The MKB called me into the office and both of us gave a piece of each others mind. He called me an ungrateful worker and I told him he is full of bull shit. So everyone is happy

2. The world cup
Its that time of year again, not enough sleep but well worth it.I’m supporting Holland. 1st game diaorg menang and I hope they win the cup

3. My wife still sakit
She is down with the mumps, muka macam kena pam.Everyday whining. Being the suami misali, her every whim the husband kena layan.

4. The car still belum service
Don’t know when I’m going to do it. Nak berenti ni pun still a lot of pending work to do.

Nak ambik ke tidak?

This maybe my last month in the company. The Japanese Company has offered me the SCM job.Diaorg personally delivered the offer to me last Saturday.Quite surprised cause tak pernah org hantar offer letter personally, usually they ask you to ambik the offer or they post it to you.

After going through the offer with my wife, all I can say is if kalau tolak memang rugi. The pay and perks that I demanded were all in the offer letter. The only thing is they want me to report for duty on the 3rd of July.

There is a 90% chance that I may take the offer, mainly because of the pay and the traveling involved. Tapi saying plak nak tinggalkan my current job because the job is so “relaxed” since no one nak “kacau” but that’s the reality when you’re already in a “cold storage” department

Mari membeli rumah

Seperti manusia yang lain, saya juga ingin memiliki property saya sendiri.Rancangan ni dah lama saya bincang dengan isteri saya, dan selalunya dia buat tak tau jer.Maybe tak minat nak beli rumah lagi kot.

Anyway last Sunday my wife ajak pegi Bandar Seri Putra Family Day,which diaorg buat just near our apartment, since dekat we all semua jalan kaki.

The developer had everything for everyone, games untuk budak-budak,free food for me and houses to look at for my wife.I guess everyone got what they wanted, which includes my wife.Suprisingly she found her dream house and is in the process of buying it.Well as for me….my “headache” will start when we move in.

Nak pi tengok rumah kena minum dulu

Mereka yang nak membeli rumah & makan free

Melukis,makan dan berkelah

Mereka-mereka yang nak bagi pinjam duit beli rumah

For the time being kitaorg duduk kat sini jer
